setting idle with automatic transmission without getting run over

what the hell is the op talking about


you set the idle in park and it drops 200 rpm in gear so if you want to be in gear at 650rpm set your idle to 850rpm

I always adjust mine in Park....Walking back and forth a few times is not bad..

Of course this depends on how loose your torque converter is....

defeats the purpose. once you lift the rear end you loose some of the resistance that would lower the rpm's since the wheels would just spin freely.

Yeah, I usually just use my ears. I recently put a tach in so now I can see exactly what I need to do. It was very close I must say to being correct before I put the tach in. I tweaked it just a little bit and now its great. I would recommend doing that if you dont have one. I bought mine for $30 at autozone and I think it looks good and its nice being able to actually see what rpms your running.

MAYBE you have to adjust it twice. It's faster than getting someone to get in and step on the brake and some of the other stuff is funny.

No one mentioned jacking up the rear and applying the e brake yet, so what the hell, here ya go.
