Default Finding the right one

All the time I see posts on this thread about people who are picking up running stangs close to where they live for dirt cheap, if not free, and i was just wondering how i would go about doing that. I am 16 years old and have pretty much restored a 1966 289 convertable on my own and im looking for a daily driver i can pick up cheap around me in south Florida that dosent need much work, but besides ebay and craigslist i have nowhere to like. any suggestions?

Those are the main places to look. Every once in a while you'll catch an add in your local paper but that pretty rare for my area.

Stay optimistic and save your money but continue looking. I've noticed the classic market out west has dried up allot. What's selling are people who need money on high dollar classics, or the idiots trying to rip off people with junk. Be patient, it'll come. Good luck.

Default Looking for a daily driver??

I live in South Florida myself and clearly understand your predicament. My best suggestion to you is to go to www.elitedealseeker.com and hit on the link "florida craigslist cities" and on the search box put "mustang" or "coupe" or 'fastback"or anything you are looking for and this "spider " engine , which was created by a very smart fellow Floridian , will show you every mustang for sale in the state of FL. on every city on the state; I find cars very cheap there all the time including many projects and/or semi projects, parts, etc. I live in Hallandale,FL and also know a few local classic "mustangers" who can hook you up for N.O.S. used parts or expertise. You or anyone who needs helps locally can call me any time : Louis Roman - (305)490-1832.Good luck!!

its going to be very tough to find a cheap or free mustang thats in good enough shape to drive it with little to no work done, i was given a 68 but it definatly needs ALOT of work, just pick up a another 68 in st. augustine for $275 but again it needs alot of work, we're just using this one for parts, you can find good deals but most of them are pretty big projects, good luck! btw im up here in central florida in the disney area

I love that link!!!! just added it to my favorites
I started looking for a classic mustang when I was 15, we looked for a few months, but I ended up with a 2001 v6 (which I love). I still want a classic though, but I don't have the time or money to restore one maybe after collage!

I've found all my Mustangs on ebay. I assess the car, ask questions, request more pictures. This gets me information, but also lets the seller know I am serious. Then I enter the maximum bid I would pay. Usually, it is below the reserve. If the car doesn't sell, I send the seller an email saying I still like the car and what is the minimum he would take for it. Once he commits, we start negotiating from there. The 1967 convertible I recently bought is a solid original car that was well maintained. It needs a couple of patch panels, but is in great shape. The reserve was $12,995. I bought it for $9,000. That may be more than you want to pay, but the same approach would work for a $4000 coupe.

And a very nice 67 convertible it is!

There is also another link that Waffles posted once.

www.jaxed.com I think is what is was (on my home computer) and you click "The Mash" at the top. This will let you search all the craigslists in every state.

Just another option if you live outside of FL.
