Timing Question - Dealing with Balancers

Man that is a lot of trouble just to figure out if the dizzy is 180 out. Pull the valve cover on the passenger side and rotate the engine until both valves are closed on #1 and the piston is at the top. Look at the timing mark on the damper and rotate the engine until in is right on 0deg. That is TDC. Drop your dizzy in pointing at the #1 plug wire. Done, easy. No special tools. No rocket science.

easier is just to cross the cables. swap each cable on cap with oppositeone on cap. Waht we're trying to achieve is to check on the timing mark. that the mark on the balancer is actually correct
