Open end wrench on the adapters screwed into the radiator, and a flare nut wrench on the flare nut. Hold the adapter still and loosen the flare nut.

Ok so everything is back together, and I was wondering how much coolant a 1967 289 takes. I flushed all of the old coolant out of the cooling system.

I believe its more than 10 quarts

I planned to, when I refill mine (never done it before) to add it until the radiator is filled just above the top tray level, then run the car and everything so the coolant flows around and then check the level and add if needed.

I don't know if this is correct though
