Default Still won't start

My car has run in the past. But not for the last month or so. At first, there was just a loud clicking sound against the inner fenders. Then nbothing at all. People told me to get a new starter selenoid. So I did, then accidently tocuhed the wires and let the battery die by it trying to start over and over but not until it died....sooo, I charged the battery on 2a for like three days and finally put it all back together today for an anti-climax....NOTHING!

I've swapped: spark plugs, sparkplug wires, distributer, battery, battery termical cables, starter selenoid, selenoid-to-starter wire...and yeah...now it's silent again. Nothing. It's like there's no battery at all.

Is it time to replace the starter? Or what...this is really frustrating. Thanks for any help.

its not too late to get a multimeter. You can check for power to the starter, batter volts, and lots of other things.... at the very least you can get a test light for a few bucks.

On that note do you have power to the dash?
headlights?

haha. I wish my car HAD headlights. It's bare up front. Fenders are there, hood is there but evrything from the radiator is missing. That's the way I bought it. I have the grill, headlight buckets and other pieces in my garage but not all of them. No bumper, no bumper brackets etc etc etc...

The dome light comes on....not sure about dash...no wait, yes. When i turn the key the red *brake* light comes on. and a little white one below the ignition...idk what it is./ it's pretty bright and housed in a chrome bezel.

could indeed be the starter....if its not well the one you have now is probably fixing to die anyhow. might as well get a new one.

If the starter is really dead, and everything else should be a green light....would it make any noise? Because my engine bay is DEAD silent....not even a click like normal.

one last thing to check is the connection fromm battery- to engine as well that connection from the selonoid directly at the starter. sometimes that connector hits the starter housing causing a short. this way it'll never start

here'sa troubleshooting guide:

If you're getting no click, you either toasted the fender-mounted solenoid or your battery is dead. Just because you charged the battery doesn't mean it's not dead. Auto batteries don't like to be discharged like that.

Aw crapppp....could I have killed the selenoid that I JUST replaced....when I was working on it...yes, after the 1st incident..I touched the battery terminal cable to the selenoid and it sparked and there's a little burn mark. Could that have killed the selenoid?
