Default poor man's mini-tubs

Every so often we see the subject of mini-tubs come up. Then we find out that replacing inner wheel housing on a coupe just aint that easy, plus relocating the trunk hinges etc, etc.

Saw this posted by MustangDepot outa Las Vegas,,,
http://www.mustangdepot.com/graphics/pm-mini-tub.pdf. Sounds pretty straight forward and eliminates a common inner wheel house issue with wider tires. It doesn't mention anything about necessary mods to the inner floor pan to accomodate the wider housing. Curious, any-one done this?

It's lots of fun lol. Just remember a mini tub on this cars is all but usless unless you move the eafs in or your new suspension is a bit narrower. we've got 315's on some cars, and we can get a bit more room with a hammer. But after that, it hits leaf.

+1, I can attest to this. I'm running a G-link and was able to stuff 315's in (thanks to CPRs wise words that 315s will fit with proper backspacing)...

I did have to tenderly massage the inner wheelhouses with a BFH, but they fit beautifully now. Like CPR said I'd hit the lower control arm before tubbing would be necessary.

CPR. Did you just relocate the leaf perch on the axle or did you relocate all 3 points? Seems if you just do the one on the axle it would put your leafs in a weird angle. I plan to do a mini tub on my 65 it is just in the planning stage now.

Didn't move any of them for a 315......but if you minitub, you need to move all three. You could maybe move just the perch and rear a bit, but you wouldn't gain much. you can do that because OEM puts the leaks cocked in a bit in the front from the get go. So if you just made them parallel, you would gain a little.
