Unhappy Newbie lighting question

Ok, I am in the process of putting all the lights back into my 68 Mustang. Total restore over the past few years. My question is, when I put the tail light bulbs in, the brake light on the tail lamp stays on. When I turn on the headlights, the rear tail lamp goes out and the headlights stay on. I did not do anything to the electrical. So, what could cause this to happen?

Thanks

You must have done something electrical, or you couldn't have done a "Total restore". Perhaps the park and tail lamps are not grounded properly when re-installed due to the new paint?

Thanks. I guess Total Restore was not the proper wording. I have new interior, total new suspension, some new metal installed, floors, quarters, and paint. To me, it felt like a total restore. HAHA. I will check the grounds. I do not remember touching anything electrical though.
