around 12.6. I just bought it.

I tried to manually crank it and could not turn it. I was going clock wise. Should I be able to hand crank it with the spark plugs in? I thought I had to take them all out to be able to do that.

I know it is a major problem. What could cause that? I had the motor professional rebuilt but a reputable machine shop in the area. The oil has not had a chance to circulate though because the engine has not been started in about a year. Could the lubricant they put on have hardened?

Could it be the transmission and not the engine? Because I did the transmission lol. In neutral and in Drive I can spin the driveshaft with ease though.

Yes, you should still be able to turn it with the plugs in it...try turning it th other way.

Lol Stepman. I do indeed appreciate your stubbornness and I'm sure others like Flash70 do also.

I hope you do not wait long because I keep buying those Powerball tickets lol.

Well I do not know if this is good or not but I sorted out all the electrical problems. NSS, harness reconstructed to specifications to handle more volts, solenoid, regulator, alternator. I am getting the correct readings now in Park. I still do not have Headlights though but I think the problem with them is they are not grounded. There is 3 prongs on the lamps but no ground that I can see on any of them.

I believe my cranking problem is much worse than we feared . I can not turn the flywheel to save my life. It is not the transmission because I checked that hence why it took so long to reply in depth. It is something in the engine. Could my header bolts be too long?? Is that possible lol

So, this motor has never run yet? I'm guesing that it turned freely before, or you wouldn't have been able to bolt up the flywheel. I can't see long header bolts stopping it. You have to go back to the last time it was turned....what has happened since then...has it just been sitting? At work, I would be looking for a longer bar right now to see if I could break it loose. You may want to ask the shop before you do that though if it will mess up the bearings. Could be pisstons stuck in bores from sitting so long. Try pulling plugs and put a few drops of ATF in the cylinders and let it sit overnight....

Yes it has just been sitting. For about 8months because I was at school. Just this summer I put the engine and transmission back in. Finished up the body work. The engine was sitting that time in a plastic wrap and then a big plastic bag.

Yes the flywheel moved when I put the transmission on.

What do you mean looking for a longer bar to break it loose? I tried hooking a crowbar to the flywheel and yanking with my feet on the wheels for added force and got nothing. There are no broken teeth on the flywheel either.

Drop Automatic Transmission Fluid into the engine?? What would that do? And I hate to ask this with all the good help you have given me but are you 100% sure that is O.K. to do? I can not afford to have the engine looked at at this time. Just paid out most of my summer money for college

Not a lot of ATF, just a couple drops...if The rings were stuck, it should loosen them up. Yes it will be ok. Try turning it from the front end. Put a socket on the crank pulley...that's where I would use the longer bar. I'm thinking that it picked up some moisture along the way and has formed a little"rust" in the cylinders....that's why the ATF, it should break that up.
