Squeals when quickly revved
Not sure what belt. My dad tightened it so I don't know. All I know is he used a breaker bar to pull the alternator away from the block.
It usually only happens when your first crank it up and gun it and also when water gets on a pulley or on the belt.

... i have never seen nor heard of a pulley being so worn that the belt is not sitting in it right.
you guys do realize that a V belt isnt a V belt and that there are different series V belts and they vary in width right?
the belt should be flush or JUST slightly above the diameter of the pulley. if the belt is sitting down inside the pulley, its the wrong belt. length may be right but thats it.

My squeals now too (when revved quickly), but only because I've removed my power steering so I only have 1 V-belt for the alternator. It was fine before I removed my power steering so I think I just need to tighten the belt some more... I'll probably do that today.
and my dad has always used a broom stick to tighten the belts. He would pull the alternator or p/s pump tight and I'd tighten down the bolts

All three of you guys might try using a belt a mm or two wider....
A "V" beld should ONLY ride on its shoulders, not the inside radius.
Cheap and easy enough to give it a try...
Worked flawlessly on the truck I did this on..
It only had about 300,000 miles on it when the belts started slipping.
