I am buying a 429 to put in my 69 fastback.
Any cool things to know about it and how cold I properly invest my money into rebuilding it for the best bang for my buck?

Agreed, headers are fun too. I would stick with a dual plane intake and a cam no bigger than 240@.050. Something in the 234 range would wake it up nice without being a pain with low vacuum.

I am going with the 429 because the guy who sold me the car will sell it to me for 300 in put together condition.
The 429 is crazy wide. You will need to cut shock towers to get them to fit. It can be done...obviously...1969 Boss429. I am not sure accessories will fit (i.e. PS and AC). I am pretty sure headers are out of the question. Jon Kasse is the man on 429s. His heads are the industry leader. He won the Engine Master Challenge this year and is always at the top of the class.
Just remember that with more torque comes more money spent to fix parts that you break.
