Asbestos?
I was removing the head liner in my 65 fastback last night and noticed all the crap that started floating in the air and the insulation right above me. Does anyone know if Ford used asbestos in mustangs at all in 1965?
I tore out my interior last year. I had the same concerns and even thought of buying a self-testing kit or submitting a sample to the state health department for testing. However, you might want to search previous postings...one guy mentioned the only asbestos was used to shroud the choke tube and perhaps the gaskets for the headers. However, you might want to research this further. Best of luck!
There would be no reason for Ford to have used asbestos in the insulation. A general warning of such a hazard would have been known for years too, so I think you're in the clear.

You can get an asbestos self test kit at Home Depot or Lowes.
I really doubt it's asbestos though. They used alot of jute and celluose
(both are plant by-products) for insulation in those days where high heat was not an issue.

as cheap as asbestos was, there wouldn't have been a reason to spend cash on a flame retardant in the headliner. you should be fine, minus the dried up glue you're breathing in. get a cheap paper mask until you've finished cleaning the roof
