Default Where is my backup switch?

So I was trying to get my back up switch to work but I don't see a backup switch on my C4 transmission

Here are the pics:

Am I missing it?

Someone has been "creative". The adjusting slot is supposed to be at the shifter end. The two bosses flanking the shaft are how the switch attaches. Your rear boss is fine, the front one is damaged. Driving with no backups and no neutral safety switch may be illegal where you live.

Hmmm how would I go about adding one? Looks like someone even filled one of the mounting holes with some silver gunk

There is a hole in the center of the firewall (if the came as an automatic) for a short wiring harness the connect to the main harness under the dash at that point, has the firewall grommet in it, and two plugs on the engine side for the neutral safety switch and the backup lights. The switch comes with the wires on it, and the ataching harness is available new in repro.
