Wiring confusion Kwik Wire harness
Hey guys I did a quick thread search and didn't see anything on this. So here goes.
If anyone has ever used a kwik wire rewiring kit to do their 66 mustang please let me know. (mine is an inline 6 cpe with a/c http://www.kwikwire.com/wh_14Circuit...rodwiring.html
I ordered one and am having some troubles with it.
My troubles are with the instructions that came with it and the fact they don't clearly detail the switches very well. I have a haynes and a chiltons sitting in the car, but not all of the wires match up or are identified in the 0ld connections.
Next moving to the motor area, I only have 4 4 to five wires coming from the firewall. Yet there are old wires witch connect to the blower motor and starter solenoid and other connections that don't seem to be incorporated in the new harness. Any help or diagrams would surely make my task much easier.

Throw the Haynes and Chilton in the mulch bin and get the factory service manual. Contact the manufacturer about the shortcomings of the instructions. If they can't help you, send it back and get the OE type wiring harness. That can be installed in an easy day, early enough to drive the car out for dinner.
Any of the well-established Mustang suppliers, Glazier Nolan, NPD, MU, etc., will offer these. The best is the stuff made by Alloy Metal. Glazier Nolan stocks AM harnesses, dunno about the others.

Thanks!

So I ended up getting the full diagram out of a Mitchel's manual. I started the rewire and have been very hard pressed to find the time to finish it up. The customer support was helpful, and the kit seems to be relatively user friendly (if you know what you're doing. I personally believe I will begin looking for someone to finish up the rest of my initiative. I think in hindsight, I would have gone with the painless setup, but the kwikwire kit is not bad and much cheaper. The quality seems to be very high.
I hope this helps.
