Default T5 conversion question 65 mustang

Hey guys,

I currently have a top loader 4speed in my 65. I have decided to go with the T5 conversion. Will my 4speed hurst shifter lever work with the T5? I know that I can get the 5speed ****. Thanks.

No, the Mustang Hurst has an S shaped base unique to that application. You'd have to saw off the chrome lever, and drill holes in it to get that lever to work, which of course would trash the shifter. Hurst has levers that will fit the T5, and of course there are the "original equipment" replicas for the T5.

Yeah, keep the Hurst intact. I bought a Hurst lever for my T-5 for less than $50. I didn't like the OE look levers so I just kept looking until I found something I did like.

I can't remember where I got it, but if you'd like I'll be happy to look through my receipts.

The place where I buy my I6 performance stuff has the shifters for sale, but they want $145 for just the lever.

Strange, Summit sells most Hurst levers for about $80.

Well it is made to look like the old stock shifter stick. Also has a fake reverse lock out.

is there a way that I can just change the shifter (that is bolted to T5) with something that has positive stops and keep my shifter stick with ****? the shifter stick/**** I have is the same 2-bolt pattern as the original 3 spd

Kalli

let me know if you would like my extra hurst short throw shifter. I have one that came on a T5 that i purchased for a buddy. I do not need it. There is no handle or **** but the shifter with the stops is in great condition.
i dont know how much it will cost to ship it but if you want it its yours.
