Brake line stuck

I agree with 2+2 GT, take his advice and toss those air shocks, they could cause immense problems.

I'm still unclear why you were disturbing the brake hose. Were you replacing it?

The flare nut is the captive nut at the end of the steel line. When these are distorted, it can be very difficult to get a proper seal when tightening them. The only way to replace them is to cut and re-flare the end of the line. Even if you are careful, this shortens the line 1/2-1". If the line is rough with oxidation, the job gets harder. As noted, this makes the line too short.

The shock crossmember is not built to bear weight. The crossmember in this Shelby was destroyed by air shocks, and had to be replaced.

yup, replacing all lines. Pulled out the axle and wire brushed off about 1/4" worth of dirt and mud build up. Next is the wheel wells
