Default A noise-free rear-end?

Hi friends,

I am fed up with the noise my rear-end is making, basically everytime I step on the gas (even very slightly) it makes a loud a consistent whinning noise. I know that the best way to fix it would be to try first to have it set correctly but the car is remote and there is no one that would be able to do it over there.

I would like to buy a rear-end with the same ratio (3.55 or maybe 3.80, still have to decide that) that would be correctly assembled so that it is just a plug and play thing that would garranty no noise at all.

Where can I find such a thing?

Would it be something like this: http://www.justrearends.com/ProductD...d-6377fbaf1655

Again, my constraints is that:

1/ Shipping is expensive so I only want to ship it once (and thus be 100% sure about what I am buying)
2/ Labor is not experienced where I am from and thus I want to find a pre-assembled noise-free rear-end

Please let me know if it is not clear enough.

Thanks!

The gear makers all offer very good video tapes or DVD's with straight forward instructions regarding how to properly set up a gear and pinion. I REALLY have never understood why so many people consider this operation to involve Black Magic. Get one of the videos from Richmond or someone. It's just not rocket science.

In fact, you might just watch the video and see how to check the pattern. Take yours apart and see how far off the pattern and backlash are. It's possible that you could straighten yours out without even buying parts.

Good luck,

Is yours an 8 inch? if so, just buy a gearset from summit, pull the pumpkin, find a 60s ford service manual, and follw the instructions, also, this will cut down shipping cost, and you can replace bearings, and then youll know for sure what shape your diff is in. If its a posi, u can check the clutches too.
