Use a center punch and a pilot drill.

Skipr,

What have you done to the car up to now that has not worked out for you?

I did this a couple weeks ago on my 68, I used after market upper control arms (stock style). I had one side back together, When I put on the other side I decided to check travel, the control arm would hit the shock tower long before it would hit the bump stop. I compared the original arms with the replacement & found about an extra 1/4" of metal towards the tower. I trimed it down & travel was fine, had to take the other side apart & cut that one also. I bet alot of people missed this as I almost did. Torque the arm to specs & make sure it goes to the bump stop before putting your spring back in. Probably not a problem with stock arms.
