Default Paint matching

I want to do some small touchup work this summer. However I'm wondering how to get the exact right color paint.

Are there places that can look at the car and come up with custom mixed paint that looks exactly right and sell me some spraycans with it? I'd hate to mess it up with a color that's slightly off.

Any advice is appreciated!

you can go to a paint store and they can mix you up a color using a computer generate picture from a camera...but it will be a blendable match and not exact.... what color is the car? i know some places sell cans but if the paint is old or a color like yellow is not gonna match....

When they repaired my fiberglass hood they matched the paint exactly. I couldnt even tell you where the corner broke off on it or anything.

If you can find a good old school paint store that will actually take the time, you can bring a piece of your car in that is the right color and a good paint guy CAN match your color pretty damn close by using a combination of computer matching, paint codes, and a good eye to fine tune the mix by "hand".

I went to school with a guy who owns a DuPont store, he does a damn good job of it.

There are not a lot of places willing to spend the time these days though.
