If I am building an engine I give a **** about, or have real money in, I usually change the bolts.
Yeah my dad said that was possible too once we saw them. I never thought of replacing them because I was short on money

If they are replaced, they are supposed to be replaced before the rods are re-sized so the new bolts don't change the shape of the big end of the con rod.

I have re-used rod bolts lots of times, never had an issue, but sometimes things don't work out so well. Sorry it had to happen on your engine... I feel for you. I do have a spare 302 block (needs to go .030 over) that I I can let you have for -0-, but I doubt the transportation would make it worthwhile...

The guy that was going to fix it supposedly has another 302, so we might buy it.

Should be calling LMR to see about ordering their short block setup.

Well this car was supposedly "Sold", but I've yet to receive my deposit. If I don't get it by tonight, it will be back on eBay. I did get some stuff done today, actually got my A/C put back on. Only had to modify my I6 A/C bracket, next will be the sunvisor and finally maybe the throwout bearing.
