Default Wheel interchange 1966-01

Hey, I bought a set of torque thrust 2 shelby cobra special editions for my 66 and was wondering if the backspacing between a 66 and 01 are generally the same? I'm wanting to put them on my 01 mustang gt now.

I think most older wheel designs where closer to hub centric, so you probably could fit them, but they wouldn't look right...

You didn't say what size they are but the 01 wheels have 5.72" backspace and the 66 wheels (I think) have about 4.5" (for an 8-inch wheel). If they are 8" wheels they would probably rub on the inside and look like they were sunk in the wheel wells 1" too far. If they are 7" they probably wouldn't rub but probably wouldn't look right. If they aren't at least 15" wheels they probably won't clear the disc brake calipers. Give it a try. You can always take them back off.

I have 98 gt 17x8 wheels on my 67 but I used a 1.25" spacer.

I doubt they will fit since the newer rims on a older mustang need spacers.
