Default GT-40 heads

Anyone using these? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-6049-X306/
Very mild, almost factory?

I'm shopping around on Summits site for guts for the 351W I eventually plan on putting in my 67 vert and I kinda like those Edelbrock top end packages but it looks like they will rip a T-5 to shreds.

I'm wondering...would it be better to build a more agressive 302 OR.....build a mild 351W and lighten it up as much as possible?

Not worth the money, IMO. Like nba said, you're better off with some real aftermarket heads, especially with a Windsor. Trick Flow FAC, Victor Jr's, or the like.

If you have the strongest T5 produced it is rated at 310ftlbs. thats it. but the ggod thing is they are cheap and plentiful. You will be fine as long as you dont put a street slick on the car. stick with regular street tires and youll be fine.

I built a 347 stroker w/ a pair of gt40 heads from a 96 explorer for my 65. Didn't have the $$$ for aluminum heads since I was expecting my little girl to be born shortly after my engine was going to be delivered from the engine shop. Well, I had the money but I started to think rationally about my purchases... All in all, I am happy with the power. Fordstrokers.com built it all for $3900 delivered to a business dock behind my house. Just had to drop a carb on it. I mated a T5- 7003Z trans to it ($1250 I think), (the slightlier heavy duty version) and so far no problems. I can get on it with out issues. People ask me how much power I am puting out, I really don't know, 325-340? Whatever it is, it's much faster than my 289 I had in it. I don't drag race or street race but I just knew it was pointless to not spend a few hundred more and go with a 347 vs a 289, 302 or 331. I think I was able to sell my old worn out 289 with a busted piston ring (which I disclosed on craigslist) for $600 and got another $450 for my 4 speed rough toploader on ebay. I think I did pretty good and it suits my needs. People love the cam bumpin when I am sitting at a light and I like it too. I did pull away from an 07 Mustang GT as well as a newer 06 350Z when I got on it and they were too on two different occasions. That made me confident.
