Default Accelerator Spring

I had recently purchased a 65 with and I6 200 and saw a spring that was rigged with wire from the accelerator rod to the engine mount I believe at the bottom of the engine. I was wondering if anyone has any information on where I can find a diagram of a six to see if this is correct. It just looks incorrect to me.

It is incorrect. The spring goes from the carburetor bellcrank to the flange on the exhaust pipe. Which is why the originals rusted out so much. Which is why the repro spring is stainless steel.
