Default Pony Interior Question??

Hi I have a 1965 mustang and I just recently bought a pony interior kit. I got it all in but I don't know how to get that chrome piece that goes on between the pistol grip door handle and the door panel. The chrome piece came with a small spring and a nylon washer. Any information is appreciated.

The small spring goes on the back of the chrome escutcheon and in a small hole in the door panel, then the chrome escutcheon goes on, then the nylon washer, then the pistol grip handle.

I tried with the spring but the hole is super small and i dont know how that spring and hole retain the escutcheon.

Was your car a pony interior or did you upgrade it? If you upgraded to the Pony Door Panels did you replace the door handle shaft assembly? The ones for the Pony interior are longer.

They don't "retain" it, they just keep it from spinning with the handle.
