Weld seat springs?
Can the seat springs be welded and be repaired successfully? I have a break in the side of the upper, driver's backrest seat spring. Just one of them and it fits together like a jigsaw puzzle, so it won't be hard to get it back into the exact Original position. It is not galvanized or anything? Will a weld hold it?
If it can't be repaired, where do I look for replacement "S" seat spring wire?

I have seen a tech thread on another forum where they did weld the springs, and reinforced the repair by slipping a piece of brake tube over the break and then welding the tube.
They would also weld the break and then "wire in" another piece of wire for a support.
This was for very old seats where replacement springs were not available.
