Default Neutral Safety Switch

I've been having trouble starting the engine in park. I can wiggle the shifter in park and sometimes it will start and sometimes not, mostly not at this point. At first I couldn't start it at all in neutral, but I made the adjustment to the safety switch as outlined in the Haynes manual, and now I can start it in neutral but not it park.
Is the switch bad? The switch is fairly inexpensive so I just thought I would replace it. What's up do you think? This is a 66 convertible with 289 and C4.

If the NS is adjusted properly, and still unreliable in park, it's switch time. Is the shift lever floppy? Coupla new bushings would fix that.

Yes, if you get the switch, get the plastic bushings for the shifter at the same time, <$5
for them and it will make you shifter feel rock solid compared to now.

Sorry, rubber and nylon, here's a kit, it's amazing the difference these little pieces make:

That kit is nice, but the one I'm talking about is the ones where the lever attaches to the shifter body.

You're right, I thought the list at the bottom was parts in the kit, don't know why those aren't in the kit, they're the most important part:
