Question Fuel Pump Filter Replacement

O.k. I bought a new fuel pump filter for my 1965 Mustang I6 and was wondering if all you have to do is grab hold of the canister and unscrew it? Will gasoline spill out?

Filter wrench works good to get them off. Just stick some towels around it if it's a little too loose for the canister.
