Default fuse box on 71

I have one fuse in the fuse box that never has power. It is the small one in the center that powers the gauges. Any advice on how to trouble shoot this?

All i can think of is just wire around it and run a inline fuse its not pretty but will work fine.

The gauges have to run thru the voltage regulator on the back of the instrument panel correct? I would have to run the new wires thru the regulator right?

The power to the voltage regulator does not go through the fuse panel. The #10 black with green hash colored wire from the ignition switch is factory spliced to a #18 black with green hash colored. The splice is inches from the fuse box inside the wiring harness. The number 10 feeds fuses F5, F6, and F7. The number 18 feeds the voltage regulator that feeds the fuel, oil, and temp gauges. Does the fuel gauge work? On the dash panel printed circuit board you will find the regulator that should measure 5VDC.

Yes the fuel gauge works. I guess I'll have to just go hunting. Thanks for the help.

The fuel gauge working means the 5 volt regulator is probably ok. Does the amp guage work ok? I could PDF you a wiring diagram if I had your email. Not sure how to post a PDF to the forum.

I just figured out that the fuse is okay. I misread the diagram. So it appears that I don't have power going to the plug that powers the amps/temp/oil. I'll pm my email address to you.

I can't send you a private message. You must have it turned off.
