Default Tire ?

Will a tire size of 205/60/15 for the front fit on a '66 coupe without rolling the fenders?

Thinking of switching from 14's to 15X6 on the front and 15X7's on the back...

205/60s are pretty wide to put on a 6" rim. why not go with 15x7s all around?

I didn't figure 15X7's would work without rolling the fenders on the front.

I was looking at the CJ Pony kits that have the combination of the 6's on the front and 7's on the back.

Seems like they offer a 205/60 or a 215/60...but I wouldn't quote me on that.

215/60-15s on 4.25" backspacing should be fine. Maybe a touch of rolling the fenders wouldn't hurt.

These are the above tires and backspacing on 15x7s all around.
No issues

I have 15x7 styled steel wheels with what I believe have 4.25" of BS or so and the 215/60's fit perfect without rolling. FWIW, my car is also lowered with a Global West suspension and drop. I had 225/50's which also fit but were too low profile for my taste and are limited in tire options. I tried a 225/60 which rubbed and I had to sell after only a few hundred miles. Doh!

[edit] those are the 225/50's in the sig. The 225/60's ride much nicer and perform quite well. FWIW, I got a great deal on Good Year Eagle GTs which run a bit smaller in diameter than the BFG's.

Specifically, I was looking at this set up

http://www.cjponyparts.com/wheel-com...-1965/p/W1847/

Sounds like with what ya'll are saying either the 205's or the 215's would be fine on the front but what about the back. My leaf springs are ~ six months old so not riding low anymore like the old worn out springs. Would 225's fit on the back in a 15x7?

When I was running the 15's. I had a 205/60-15 on Cragar GT Aluminum wheels and they are 15x6 wheels. According to Tire Rack, That tire WILL work on a 5.5"-7" wheel. I do think I rolled the fenders though cuz I had the 1" lower springs and I did cut the coils to make it lower, don't remember how much though.

I also run 15x7 wheels with 215 60 15 front tires. I have no issues with this setup. My wheels are Magnum 500.

You can run 205 and 15x6. I have seen several cars like this.

So if I had 15X6 with 215/60/15's on the front and 15x7's on the back with 225/60/15 for the back it would fly with no rolling?

I think getting the bit larger tires would be better then what I have now ...205/70/14. With the performance upgrades when I am going around a corner pulling out in traffic I have problems not spinning the tires a bit with just normal acceleration. I've never tried really getting on it hard but I can imagine.
