Question How do your wire the Neutral safety switch?

I actually have two questions;

First, I just swapped my 3 speed toploader out and put in a C4. The car came factory with the 3 Speed so it doesn't have the wires readily available to plug in the switch. I have the new switch on the tranny but now need to hook up the wiring and do not know where to wire the into. Can anyone help?

Second, I think I am missing a part for the kick-down cable. I have the piece that connects to the tranny but it doesn't go all the way to the carb. There has to be something missing but I just can't find that part online; all I see is the cable part not the rigid piece. Does anyone have a picture of what it should look like or how it should be connected?

I have a 200 6 cyl with a C4.

Thanks,

Your kickdown will attach to the throttle linkage, not the carb. Where the throttle rod comes through the firewall then turns to the passenger side, there should be an arm attached there that the kickdown attaches to. Since your car was originally a manual, you probably don't have the arm.

I may have one laying around somewhere, let me know if you can't find one readily available.

Too easy…

Half of the 65 NS wiring comes on the switch. The other half is available new as a repro. You will need to punch the small hole in the top center of the firewall, then plug in all the new wiring to the connectors that have been waiting 45 years for this wiring to be installed.

You can see it here on the firewall just above the rectangular engine wiring harness plug:

I repaired my neutral safety switch but now run w/ it jumpered out (plug in jumper).
Didn't wanna risk it failing again.
The switch is plugged in near master cylinder on C4 cars as mentioned below.
Mine is located roughly 1" above the rectangular harness penetration and is run thru a round grommet.

Not much, I'm replacing pretty much everything on my car. I've got a huge box of parts that, although they may not be in the best shape, are quite usable.

Besides, I never throw anything away, which may explain my slow progress, I have to step over stuff to do just about anything.

Spoke too soon. After kalli poked fun at me, I went out and organized my parts, boxing up common parts for easy identification. No kickdown arm......

But, I remembered why I don't have it anymore, I traded my rebuilt C4 for a T5, and I threw it in with the deal.

It doesn't connect to the carb, there should be an arm extending downward from the throttle shaft, at the firewall.
