Default fuel pump question

I plan on replacing what I've been told is a 1 bbl holley carb on my 66 200 mustang back to an original autolite carb. It's actually the Pony carbs updated version of the same carb, but I'm wondering if I should replace the fuel pump when I'm doing this or should I just leave well enough alone? The car's been sitting for quite some time. It'd been sitting for a couple years before I bought it and has basically sat the last 3 years I've been restoring it. Any thoughts? Is this hard to do? I watched the installation video for the new carb that came with it and I can't remember but I think they said replacing it was a good idea.

Up to you. Replacing the pump is quick and easy on that car.

Probably should then, just about everything else is getting replaced, might as well make sure important small stuff like that is too. No use having a car that's show and no go lol.

if it was sitting for 3 years I'd drain the old fuel, replace pump and filters

The rubber diaphragm in mechanical pumps fail w/ time. Good to replace or keep spare pump/diaphragm in trunk.

Any time rubber components of fuel line is disturbed you should have filter downstream to collect freed particles.
