If you were giving them away (for $0.00) then why did you ask for offers in the post? I re-read your post at the top, about putting "offers" and how it was going to the scrap yard if it didn't go. To the mods, how were they to read your mind?
Over the past few months I've taken a lot of good parts to scrap just because I can't be bothered trying to sell them (way too busy). After being here for a while I realized a lot of these parts can be used by members so I put up the listing. I had a kid offer me $0 for one of the items (he was broke) but did pay for shipping, so yes I did give them away if someone really needed them but didn't have any cash. People with extra cash would naturally offer more, those with less would offer less. Either way I didn't turn down a single offer. Was just trying to do something nice for people that may not have the cash to fix up their mustangs and could use the parts. This kid just wanted to get his car back on the road. The offer was a way of saying "Thanks for spending the time to box up the item and take it to ups." The same way I gave the kid at the junk yard a $20 for loading the transmission into my truck. I got the trans for free but gave the kid working for my friend something for his effort. Did I have to, no, but I did because I could afford to and I wanted to say thanks.

Did I break the rules, maybe I did. I didn't think I broke the spirit of the rules because when I filled out the form I did put $0. Had I known I was at the DMV and had to write duplicate information in the listing I would have. I think the reaction and the follow-up pm was a little much. If that's the way they want to treat members that's fine, I won't list parts here anymore.

Too bad. He could have talked to Dan at Glazier/Nolan. Usually, when people show up with a pickup truck of Mustang parts, he'll give them a few bucks for whatever is worth having.

Hey, looks like a good rear bumper on that car, the rest will just buff out

If the form requires an actual amount, next time list $1 + shipping. Or haul them over to Dan. It'd give you a chance to see what they are working on.

Rules, rules, and more rules. Follow them or be banned for life! No, just kidding. Sounds like mr.v posted some stuff for sale or whatever and was snagged in a case of not reading the "disclaimer" before signing. No big deal. I appreciate you trying to help people out with your parts that will go to scrap anyways.

Rule without reason is the genisis of unwieldy beauocracy....

Chances are that this silly *** rule is the result of some poor soul getting "screwed" because the prices were not listed.

Too bad we are such nanzy panzie jack-wagons that we need to be "protected" in every step we take.

The deletion of your thread is yet another example of what is going wrong with America.

I appreciate what you did, or tried to do. Buying used parts rather than shelling out cash for new parts is what I HAVE to do, so it's nice when somebody is giving others a chance at their stuff they no longer need.

Its too bad you weren't able to give that stuff away. Did you try putting it in the free stuff on craigslist?

I think that if the ad says free or make offer that should be just as good as having a price.

That picture on the dumpster is funny.

Hey stephen, why did you guys destroy that one?

All the 289 motor stuff (intake, carb, headers, dizzy) are going to a kid from another vintage mustang site. Still have the springs and trans which will probably end up in the scrap pile.
