Emblems with magnet option
Galac... I got three products coming your way in 8.5" x 11" sheet form.
5952 is a 45 mil black VHB tape (Very High Bond). This gets used for bonding the emblems straight to the car. Pull back the paper liner, lay down your emblem, then use a razor to outline the emblem, the red film will stay on the other side for you to pull off later and stick to the car.
4905 is a clear, thinner 20 mil VHB tape. You could use this for the magnet to the emblem if the back of the emblem is not exactly flat and you need a bit of gap fill.
F9469PC is a paper thin adhesive transfer tape. You can also use this for the magnet to the emblem if the emblem is completely flat on the back and no gap fill is needed.
If you stick the emblem to the car, only use 5952, and make sure you clean the durface with alcohol/water (IPA) to remove all the oil/wax/dirt first.
Just got to find yourself some magnet material now!
It's no sweat man, good luck! I expect the material to arrive by Friday.

My ride is bare metal right now...it will probably be primed sometime next week (see my other thread on color choice)...once painted...will have to wait for the paint to really set before magnets...but I'll definitely let you know and show pictures when done.
Are these super safe for paint?
Can they be removed on and off at will?
Or are they a bit more permanent?
Thanks...I owe you BIG time!
No worries man, you don't owe me anything, it's what I do for a living.
Once you put it on the car, it's meant to stay there for life.
But... if you use a heat gun and soften up the tape with out ruining the paint of course, it will loosen them up and you can tug at them.
If you have any residue left over, use your thumb, roll over it, and eventually it will ball up.

Put the emblems on the right way, keep the car until you die like you should, let the next guy worry about after you are gone.
I'm serious, I have to assume you are going to have nothing but trouble with a magnet if you try to drive the car with the emblems on.
