auto to t5

It did require some massaging but it wasn't bad. It only took a few minutes and didnt need much. We did not have to beat the hell out of it.

Having done both the cable and oem style I will go oem on every one I do from now on. The only parts required other than the oem parts will be a fulcrum and block if you are using a T5 bell housing. If you are using the stock bell housing you don't need any extra parts other than the stock parts. You don't have to modify anything. Fitment and cable routing don't even come up as an issue. OEM all the way. I have never done a hydraulic set up due to the cost.

HYD clutch is 100% the way to go. Everyone that drives my car says the hyd clutch is a great upgrade. I pieced mine together and saved about $250- $300 for what the retailers sell them for. The sad thing is that it's the same exact thing the retailers sell too.
I used the following sites to figure everything out:
http://www.midnightdsigns.com/Mustang/HYD%20Clutch.htm
And
http://dazed.home.bresnan.net/test#8
I purchased most of the assembly pieces from Dazed and realized afterwords that most of the hardware can be purchased at the hardware store. However, purchasing the slave cylinder kit from Dazed eliminated most of the headaches. I also used a Wilwood Master cylinder with a .75" bore and I purchased the LONGACRE 2805 Hydraulic Clutch Line 36” suggested in the midnightdsigns website to complete everything.
The assembly was a piece of cake, but the bleeding and adjusting of the clutch was tricky. But it's nothing to be scared of.
- Bruce at modern drive line is a great reference, but his stuff is expensive.
- If you haven't bought a tranny yet, screw the Ford Racing T-5 and the Tremec TKOs. I purchased my T5 from promotion powertrain and was unbelievably impressed with the customer service and the transmission I recieved. Plus the cost and the HP rating of the tranny is far better than the ford racing unit and definitely a lot cheaper than the TKOs.
If you have any questions, PM me. I just did my conversion about 5 months ago. Check out my previous posts too and do a forum search for more info on the tranny swap/Hyd clutch conversion.

Optional, but nice. I put the inexpensive pedal roller kit from Drake on a 69 428 CJ, and after that a 12-year-old girl could operate the clutch.

putz^ I hope you read my threads I posted. You just can't take any T-5 and put it in your car. Some have different input shafts and some input shafts are longer. Things that the magazines fail to tell you destroyed one of my engines.
