Default grommet removal

Anyone have any tricks for removing old grommets? I'm having trouble with some real stubborn ones.

Which ones? The method depends a lot on where. Fender apron grommets? Shift lever grommets? Big difference.

I can imagine this is very true. They are the ones that go down thru the trunk to the lights outside and the one that the fuel tank guage wire goes thru. Any ideas?

I use a shorty flat screwdriver and work my way around. Don't do this cold, if you plan to re-use the wiring. An old hair dryer will make the rubber more pliable, with no chance of overheating.

Thanks those tips are very helpful. Not planning on using them again and I'm installing a new wiring kit so not too worried about that. Thanks again!

The wiring in question is part of the lamp, not the harness, so unless you also replacing the lamps, be nice to the grommets.
