Keep in mind, you should have some sort of safety shutoff for the fuel pump in case of an accident. Otherwise the fuel pump keeps pumping fuel all over the place after a crash, potentially creating a very large fire hazard.

Ford commonly uses inertia switches for this function. Oil pressure cutoffs are another commonly used safety.

Don't worrie, I don't wear my lap belt but always carry marshmellows. This way I'll be thrown from the fiery wreckage and have something to eat while I'm waiting for the ambulance

The one piece steering shaft spears helps keep me honest.

That and the blow away gas tanks.
