I bought a sunpro supertach II today for 30$, i doubt it would fit in my blank center gauge but im going to mount it to the steering column. i wanted to know how you guys hid the wires for these if you mount them on the column? there like 4-5 wires and they would stick out like a sore thumb, maybe ill wrap them up with black electrical and try and hide it. im not too worried about finding wires to splice, i think :P

picking up car from body/primer tonight, will have pics. buying paint tomorrow probably and will have it painted either this weekend or after my last final on monday.

cant decide whether to paint it the same color as before, turquoise/green, or paint it lime gold and have to paint the door jambs, back of hood and trunk.

what do?

going to connect the ignition/dist wire to a wire-to-ring connection by placing it under the ignition wire cap. and extend that under the steering wheel. then connect the backlight and battery connection to the accessory (only when on) that i have running to my radio. i tested it out today, just as a test and it worked perfect. hopefully ill have it in by tomorrow.

also i got the car back from body work today it looks amazing and is sooooo smooth
got some sexy cellphone pics

Looks like you've gotten some stuff accomplished.

Why is the fender emblom so high?

does it look high? i cant tell.

had to mount the tach sideways, the bezel around the speedometer and alternator/oil pressure got in the way of the mounting bracket. i like how it looks like this. mounted it using zip ties instead of hose clamps, it works good and is not as apparent as hose clamps(aka i didnt have any clamps big enough)

set the fuel/air mixture yesterday, have it at about 1.5 turns out and idling at 950-1000 rpms in neutral/park and right around 650 in drive.

fast idle is not staying set, i set it yesterday and tested it and it worked perfect, idling at ~1800 rpm then i tried it this morning and it wouldnt kick in.

i heard that throttle return springs getting stretched out is fairly common and this could cause the problem.

i was surprised to see the car at only 2000 rpms at 40MPH with a c4, thought it would be higher.

It does look a bit high.

I mounted my tach off to one side and used a hose clamp surrounded in black heat shrink. I don't think the zip ties will be tight enough, and it will probably vibrate alot.

That RPM sounds about right.

i had the same worries about the zip ties but they had rubber pieces that you put under the tach, I have driven it around quite a bit and it doesnt seem to vibrate or slip. i might take off the emblems so i can paint it better and then i can lower them.

its getting warmer here in MN, now its in the 60s and 70s and i noticed the car heats up like a **** inside, im pretty sure the heater is not on, all the tabs on the heater control are pushed down and the fan one is all the way left. i feel hot air around the feet area, this is solved by opening the vent but it doesnt work as well when its hotter. is this just heat from the engine that i have to deal with?

i took off the emblems so i can get ready for paint and whoever painted the tuquoise color on broke off the pins on the back of the ponies and screwed the emblems in with a screw, but not before gluing them :P i kinda liek it at this height though so i think ill keep them there lol.

Yeah they look fine at that height. I don't think it's an eyesore or anything in any way.
