Default Future Project

Hi All.
I live in little old New Zealand and are looking at starting a 69 build in 12mths or so. As yet there is no car but need advice and feedback on the best components performance vs price too use. The car will be a 69 fastback. I am looking at a pro-touring style on a budget. I know this may not sound realistic but I need to start somewhere. I LOVED the CPR Streetmachines 69 Turbo in green/black. Way over my budget but similar concept. Thinking of more supercharged option due to costs and complexity. Any thoughts and suppliers recommendations would be awesome.

Welcome! I would say stay with a 351W and then stroke it if you want mad horse power. Go with a built T-5 and hopefully the car will have the 9 inch in it when you buy it and you could stay with that. I would not go with a lower gear than a 3.50 or a 3.25 if you want to get crazy. You will want a limited slip rear also. Suspension, I would just stay stock to save money, just rebuild everything and lower it. I would not start thinking about removing shock towers or tubing the rear or anything crazy like that. I would also stay with stock style front disc brakes with drum rear. Keep it simple and it will be much easier to get done and start enjoying it. If you want it to be unique I would do something different with the paint and interior. That is my 2 cents worth.

if it were me i would put the bulk of my budget into the suspension, mustang II style front end and converting the rear end to a multi link coil over setup. if the car came with a nine inch housing i would use that with either a 3.55 or 3.73 gear traction loc and 31 spline axles. if it has the eight inch rear i would ditch it for a 9 or 8.8 whichever one i could find cheaper. adapt some power disc brakes from a readily available vehicle. 300-350 hp engine would get you around a road course decently i like the 351-c but over there im not sure what engines you can get your hands on. a mild 302 or 351w might be easier to find and back it with a five speed trans. and with whatever you have left over buy some good tires and light weight rims
