worst case scenario huh?

your car explodes next time you start it.....

on a serious note.

if the car didnt hit the ramps when it fell where did it get damaged, shouldnt the suspension take that? you said that you pulled the ramps out by hand afterward right?

yes, the ramps were kind of wedged a bit under the front fenders right behind the wheel, so nothing hit them on the way down. i think that something got jarred loose when it hit the ground and is rubbing.

Wait does it start? Could be something as simple as a wire coming loose from the impact...like a wire coming off the ballast resistor?

Default update

The car is an automatic. starter turns and car cranks then horrible noise after cranking. Oil pan is straight. sounds like it is coming out of the transmission. I put my hand on the starter and had my son turn it over. Hard to tell where noise is coming from. Afriad is in the transmission. never saw anything like this. I will pul the starter and see.

Default thought about tranny

I would have though the same thing , but the car was in drive and driven over the end of the ramps. Was a big bump but nothing humongous. I am afraid the impact point being right behind the wheels is so close to the meeting point of the engine and transmission. The car landed right on that line for just a split second. I do not want to remove the transmission and it was just rebuilt Ijust praythat when I take out the starter it is the culprit. Bendix is fully engaged or something readily apparent. I will have it tested anyway. Thanks for these ideas.
