Default Help with T-5 lining up pleeze !!

i'm getting closer to firing up my new 331 Stroker build up after 1 1/2 years of working on the car. when i pulled engine i left my WC T-5 still attached and took it out as 1 piece. fastfoward to now. i put trans back in with new engine and using the same trans mount and now its not lined up correctley.

its not straight where shifter comes thru opening and its a little down. is there a way to adjust all this. ?

Did you change any of the mounts(engine or trans)?..If not then you must have something on backwards...Is the trans crossmember bolted on the right way?

aye. show us picture taken straight down to shifter hole. good would be another one from the back of transmission showing the shifter hole (so we can see how close you are to hitting the tunnel)

Do you mean the tranny is rotated a few degrees towards the driver's or passenger side?

Or is it that the shifter doesn't center in the hole?

If it's the latter then mine may be a bit off too when it comes to being absolutely centered in the existing hole, but the previous owner hacked the tunnel to get a Hurst shifter in there with a top loader so it's hard to tell.

If it's rotated a few degrees I seem to remember my first T5 with the bell housing adapter plate may have been like that (tilted towards the driver), but I may be going batty.

You MAY just need to loosen ALL of the mount bolts a little (engine and tranny) in order to get everything to line up, the bolt holes will usually give you a little adjustment, but this adjusment won't happen if you tighten the mounts first.
