Default New Voltage Regulator

Just purchased a new voltage regulator. Its obviously easy to access, but is there anything I should know before I tackle this small project? The reason I'm replacing it is because my car was due for some new electrical overhauling anyways (battery cables and battery, possibly alternator later on). I'm assuming its straightforward as long as I take a picture of which wires go where. Thanks in advance

The regulators are just plug and play. Just plug the new one in and let her run. Id keep the old one though just incase the new one bites it.

If you're going to change the voltage regulator updating to an electronic one is a good idea. They don't cost that much more and are a big improvment over the mechanical one.
