No worries. Thanks for taking your time out at work rtintwo. What is a passenger head?

Glad to help. The passenger side of the engine at the back of the enigine is where the ground wire should be. The head is the top part of the engine that all the valves and the vavle cover are on.

Looking back that was a dumb question. I see no wire there so hopefully that is all the problem is. So the two grounds that are there are insufficient?

If the two grounds that you are seeing dont go between the engine and the firewall then no they are not sufficient.

Does the cable have to be connected to the passenger head or can I connect it where the ground wire is in the rear passenger bottom side of the engine where there is a bolt already?

I don't understand what the difference of a ground from the block to the solenoid on the engine wall is then a ground from the block to the firewall is. Can you explain that as well?

Yes you should connect it at the back of the head. This is a link with a pic to a ground cable like the one you are looking for. You should be able to find everthing you need at a local parts store, this will be quicker and cheaper.

The cable from the solinoid to the bottom side is the cable that provides power to run the starter, you should leave this one alone.
