Default Mustang eleanor conversion

I just got a 1968 mustang fastback and I want to do an eleanor conversion. Do you guys know any shops that do the conversion for a good price? I went to a shop today and they quoted me around 7k with full installation and a paint job. Just for the body work and everything outside nothing on the inside, which is over my budget. The guy seemed pretty legit he had about 6 other 1960's mustangs he was restoring. What do you guys think? Do you know how much it should cost to do this and also do you guys know and shops in west Los Angeles that gives good prices and the are honest people?
Thanks

Also when i am washing the car water leaks into the trunk do you know what i can do?
what is a good place to buy car parts from? and do you know what i can do to have better handling?

$7k sounds cheap, actually. I'm guessing for that price the fit of the fiberglass parts, and finish of the paint will be poor. Parts alone would cost a large fraction of that $7k, and you can't just bolt them on and paint them. Most of the "Eleanors" I have seen up close looked like crap because that's what people tried to do. A LOT of careful fitting and adjustment is required to get these cars to look good. Heck, just doing the panels on a REAL Shelby can break your heart. This car looks great, and even though they had the original fiberglass panels, I'm guessing there was $7k or more involved just in getting the 'glass to fit well.

I'm with 2+2 i have seen cars just painted for close to 7k,So there will be corners cut and you won't like the outcome of it.And it don't matter what brand the fiberglass is no aftermarket part bolts on and fits perfect.I spent close to a week getting my trunk and corners of it to fit to my standards and i bought them off a well known company. On a budget most of us learned you spend close to double what we had as a budget keep that in mind.

On the other hand a stone-stock 68 fastback doesn't exactly suck:

For $7 k you will have a 50 foot Eleanor. Wavy fiberglass panels that have terrible alignments and paint that makes a orange look smooth. Any decent shop would be looking to pocket AT LEAST $7k to complete the amount of work necessary for this type of project. Your looking at a minimum of $4k in parts, supplies and paint. 3k won't buy you much in terms of quality labor for the number of hours needed to do a job like this.

Im not saying i dont like a stock 68 fastback. I love it thats why i got one! Iv always thought the eleanor is pretty bad ***, even though it is a bit over done now. But if I can afford it and it would be a quality job I would love to get it done. The guy at the shop showed me pictures of his work and it looked great. But I guess i cant see the details until i see one of the cars in person. I'll definitely look into it more and talk to other shops.
Thanks for your help guys

The kit is from rebel mustang and is the same person who refereed me to the shop that gave me the quote. Iv been researching rebel mustangs and they have a pretty bad rep. Is just because there stuff is hard to fit? If that is the only case i shouldn't really be worrying about it because the shop will be doing it for me. Or am i wrong?

You do understand you basically have to butcher the car to put that Eleanor stuff on it. Chopping, sawing, and drilling holes. If you change your mind later, a lot of welding will be involved in putting it back.
