Back-up lights on

Back-up lights on
I was following my SWMBO this summer while she was driving the 65, and I was driving my Lariat Pick-up. I noticed when she had the head lights on, the back-up lights were also on. I assume that the back-up switch has gone south, but I just wondered if any of you guys have had that phenomena happen, and how did you fix it?
