The car's got a V6 in it right now, with a 3 speed manual, but I found a 429 cobra jet with a 9" rear end that I want to put in it, think it'll work?
You're going to need to upgrade your transmission and driveshaft. And if your car is 4 lug you'll need to put 5 lug suspension up front.

I just hate that song so much. I'd rather listen to white noise and stare at the sun.

Wasn't sure about that, good to hear it though. Next time I start a project and consider a V6/I6 to V8 swap, maybe I should look at a big '71-'73.

Where you think my spindles came from lol.Only reason i knew that was my dad had a 71 sport roof was a inline6 and 5 lug back in the 80s.In 71 they changed a lot like wider engine bay they lowered the upper a arm and went to a gm style steering box.

That's the nice thing about the 71-73 Mustangs, plenty of roonm for a Big Block. As for the rearend it depends on what it came out of as it's also the widest Mustang built.
Anything from a 351 and up and that car will haul ***. My sister had a 73 coupe with a 351 and that thing could light up the tires something fierce.

Add to the swap list motor mounts, accelerator cable, radiator, fan shroud (an electric fan cheaper option), front springs, sway-bars and exhaust headers. Check into the possibility of a brake proportioning valve to go with the 9" rear and trans mount, I believe you may need those as well.
