You'll likely destroy a T5 on the street. In a road racing environment with PROPER shifting(which virtually no one knows how to do) it will live at as much as 500hp. But street/drag abuse is a whole other ball of wax entirely.

You can get upgraded T5's that'll handle 600hp in drag environments, or a TKO. A T56 or the newer TREMEC 6 speed would work....but check out gear ratios. The 6 speeds work better in engines that have narrower power bands since the ratios are tighter. The 5 speeds are like an old Toploader with nice broad 1-4 gears, then an o/d, and they work better in engines with broader power bands.

How much money do you have? Cuz you'll need a clutch, flywheel, trans, mounting crap....plus a clutch linkage, I'd recommend hydraulic....though you'll have to install a reinforcing plate on the firewall. Same for a cable as well.

ok, for now im just worried about how to put the t5 in cause it sounds like the least amount of work and i found a hopped up t5 for a really good price. So if there are like some step by step directions or pictures and diagrams or something that i can follow that would be greatly appreciated

There are T5's that have upgraded internals, you can tell by the price. They typically go for $1,500 and up, sometimes over $2k. They fit pretty easily.

ok, ill try and not blow this one out. So about the clutch pedal, am i going to have to get a whole new brake and gas pedal too, or is there one that would bolt right next to the brake pedal so i dont have to take everything apart???

Goto moderndriveline dot com
They have a repro clutch peddle for $160 that bolts to your existing brake peddle mount. Then just cut your existing brake peddle to fit a new manual brake peddle pad.
They have clutch cables for reasonable price too, if you want to go that route.
I'm very satisfied with my cable setup, it came with instructions, FW reinforcing plate, and I didn't have to find all the stock clutch linkage.
