Back from Paint!!
For a total restoration, with these cars once you start to take them apart, it's fair to say that 95% of the time, there's a lot more work involved due to hidden rust and rot.
The flip side is if a shop estimates 100 hours of work and give you a flat price based off of that estimate, and it turns out to be 150 hours of work, there's always the chance that they'll cut corners to stay as close to the original 100 hours.
My restoration was in two phases and just about everything was rebuilt- torque boxes, floors, frame rails, cowel, etc..... It came in around 250 hours. I know that everything was done correctly because the entire build was documented.
See, That's what I was saying, The only way I could tell the difference between a 67 and 68 was the quarter panel lights and the steering wheel. Just like 65-66 the only thing different to me was the cas cap.
I was going for a candy brandy wine look. I went to the paint store and spent about an hour looking at swatches and narrowing down to the color I wanted. No real name for the color. Always hard to pick from a swatch- but I love the way it came out.
MMmmmm, ok? To me the easiest way to tell if it's a 67 or 68 is to look at the side scoops on the quarter panels. Vents = 67.
