Default fuel pump problems

We had a cracked timing chain cover on the 66 shelby mustang gt350 we restored. We had a mechanic put new timing chain and new cover on and now for some reason the fuel pump isant working? The fuel is in the line before the pump but wont go through the pump. What could cause this? Really could use some input here, We cant finish putting the car together until the car will start. Thanks!

*The cam that operates the fuel pump was not reinstalled

* The fuel pump was installed improperly and now the pumping lever is broken off inside the cover.

Remove the fuel pump

1) is the lever still on it?

2) Look inside that hole behind the fuel pump do you see a shinny ring about 1" thick back there? use a mirror.

same opinion here.
forgot to install the fuel pump excenter on top of the cam sprocket or installed fuel pump incorrectly so something doesn't work correctly or broke.
I have my money on forgot excenter
