really? is it that noticeable. I have to admit that a bit of a turnoff. I didnt mention anything about the T56 because of the modifications to the trans tunnel. Never heard of richmond though

Performance transmissions make noise, period. The straighter the cut on the gears the stronger the gear tooth roots and the better the gear contact, but the more the noise. Straight cut gears are EXTREMELY noisy. Most of the aftermarket stuff is still helical cut, but with less angle than typical factory transmissions.

A 64-66 you have to cut the trans tunnel for the t56 but a 67-73 it fits just fine.The m22 i was talking about is a gm trans nick named the rock crusher because of how loud it was.Its not really that loud but you can get use to the whine some of them have at lower rpms.
