Default wiring nightmare

I've been struggling with my wiring for a few weeks now. I have figured out most of the issues accept a few. My major issue is that i can not get the guage lights to work. The gauges all read but no lights. I have gone through two brand new headlight switches but nothing. My question is does the parking lights and headlights have to be plugged in for the gauge lights to come on?

No. The park lamps and taillamps could be in a box in the basement and the instrument lamps should still work.

Sorry, I am not trying to insult you. I assume you check the dim brightness control switch, which is located next to the headlight switch, at least on a 07. Just trying to
work backwards.

Do you have instrument light power coming out of the switch? It's on a rheostat, so it'll go from 0-12V. If there's no power there, you've found your problem. If there is, move on to the cluster.

Simple to check, if you have the right tool, and this one's only $4.50:
