Default steering wheel resto ?

i went to the moonshine festival in dawsonville ga this weekend and bought a original steering wheel complete with the chrome horn ring for 50.00, it was some cracks plus a few spots missing. what is the best kit out there to restore it? it original color is a pale green or gold color but i will dye it black to match my dash and interior

I'm gonna have to ask for clarification of the "plus a few spots missing" part.

I believe Spike tv/Muscle Car did this on and episode (dont remember wich one). Anyhow they had a very old sun damaged steering wheel. First they took a grinder or dremmel to the cracks to bevel the edges. I think they used Dura-glass or Long and strong filler to fill in missing sections, than shaped the finger grips on the back, prime and paint. I also see Eastwood sells a kit!

Hi 2+2,
had the same on mine. The plastic over the steering wheel over time cracks. And as well it seems to 'contract'. So at some spots there's no plastic at all and around the full circle very thin or copmpletely missing.
I couldn't have been assed to even try and restore that. bought new.

i have to find a picture of that
